Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn – January 5, 2019; 5:28pm PST
The New Moon is always a time of new beginnings. It’s an excellent time for setting intentions and clearly stating to the Universe what you want to manifest in your life. A Solar Eclipse New Moon is particularly powerful because eclipses move us forward on our destiny line and provide us with a theme that we can work with for the next eighteen months.

The sign of Capricorn represents achievement, perseverance, and structure. It’s symbolized by the mountain goat, a creature that can survive and thrive in almost impossible to navigate terrain. Tapping into the strength of this energy can help us overcome life’s hardships and emerge on the other side confident and strong. Where Capricorn lies in your chart is an area of life where you will see great change over the next two years. Change can be scary because it moves us into the unknown, but if managed properly the opportunities that accompany the change can be embraced. This is a time when we can achieve true mastery over parts of our lives that have plagued us. For instance, if the New Moon falls in your 1st house, there is the potential to gain mastery over yourself; how you view the world and how others view you. If it falls in your 7th house, you can gain mastery over your relationships and how they impact you. Think about that and set your intentions for this New Moon accordingly.

The New Moon is sandwiched between the planets, Pluto and Saturn, also in the sign of Capricorn. This sets us up for the major astrological event of Pluto conjunct Saturn in January 2020. The last time these two powerhouse planets came together was in 1982. Their conjoining is often accompanied by difficult economic times and financial volatility. The world’s financial systems have been in a tenuous state since 2007 and while the stock market may appear to have done well recently, it is artificially inflated and set for a downturn. Personal financial conservation are the watchwords here. Be cautious with your investments.

Capricorn is a cardinal sign and cardinality is about initiating. That makes this the perfect time to begin something new. However, because the South Node (which represents the past) is also combined with the New Moon, there may be something that needs to be released before you are fully able to move into the next phase. What no longer works in your life? This is where a change needs to happen.
Added to this energy, the planet Uranus stations direct and begins its forward motion on January 6th. Uranus asks us to think and act differently. To throw off the eons of conditioning that we’ve been subjected to and come up with a new ‘wheel’. Let’s all use the Capricorn New Moon eclipse energy to propel us out of our ruts and into (I know it’s a cliché but…) A Brave New World. It’s a world be all intended to create when we incarnated here. Let’s do it!
Happy New Year!
