Virgo Full SuperMoon – February 19, 2019; 7:53am PST
This Full Moon is the strongest SuperMoon this year, meaning that the Moon will be in the closest proximity to the Earth. Not only will the Moon appear larger in size, it will have a stronger impact on our emotions and our physical bodies. There is approximately 352 quintillion gallons of water in our oceans and the Moon easily affects the level of this water on a daily basis. Imagine what it can do to our bodies which are 60% water. The experience of the Full Moon always brings a culmination, an ending in relation to the area of your chart in which it falls. If you are feeling compelled to change things in your life, this Moon will help you see what needs to be done.
At every Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are opposite each other. This highlights the polarity of the two signs in which the Sun and Moon fall. For this Full Moon the two signs highlighted are Pisces and Virgo, intuition vs logic. Both of these signs are about healing and being of service, but they come at it from different perspectives. Pisces from a purely intuitive basis and Virgo from a logical, practical – let’s break it down into steps so we can analyze it basis. Neither way is wrong…or right, and this Full Moon asks you to blend the two methods together. When Virgo impacts us strongly, we make decisions to clean up our lives. This can manifest in the desire to eat more cleanly, to spring clean our home, to stop wasting time in unproductive activities. However this ‘need to clean’ affects you, don’t let the busy-ness of Virgo rob you of opportunities to stop and tap into your intuition for guidance.
This important Full Moon is accompanied by the re-entrance of Chiron into the sign of Aries where it will be until 2027. Chiron is known as the Wounded Healer and represents the suppressed wounding that we all have from past life, our time in utero, and our early childhood. All of the traumas, big and small, can become trapped within us and Chiron represents the process of transmuting those wounds. In Aries, those wounds primarily relate to self-actualizing – feeling as thought we have a right to exist and go after what we want in life. Chiron in Aries can produce a rather assertive energy. The last time Chiron was in this sign was 1968. During this time, there was major social upheaval in the United States and protests surrounding civil rights issues around the world. The major conjunction of Uranus and Pluto contributed to this, but Chiron definitely had an impact.
Chiron also asks us to take responsibility for our own healing. If you are struggling with health issues, Chiron in Aries can be the impetus for you to get to the heart of the dis-ease. Chiron is always about alternative and spiritual methods of healing, so a visit to the doctor’s office is not what this energy is about. Instead, dig deeper to understand the true meaning of the illness. The pain has purpose. Once you figure out what that is, the next step is wellness.
