Leo New Moon – July 31, 2019; 8:11pm PDT

Following the cycles of the Moon from New Moon to Full Moon and back again, gives us a sense of transition. New Moon’s coincide with beginnings, Full Moon’s with completion and as we open our awareness to this energy, we can set intentions based on the ebb and flow of this cycle. In Western Natal astrology, the Moon indicates our feelings, certainly an important part of who we are, but it also represents our intuition and how we garner emotional security – what makes us feel warm and fuzzy. How we react in certain situations is often governed by unconscious behaviors developed in early childhood. This can be shown by the placement of the Moon in our charts and if the behavior is unwanted, understanding how the Moon interacts with other planets can show a pathway to change. We can even see the influence of our mother and get a sense of her personality and ability to nurture by looking at the Moon in our chart. That is the psychological influence of the Moon in our lives, but it also has a strong physical impact.

The Moon’s power affects the tides of the Earth, raising and lowering 353 quintillion gallons of water every day. On average, the adult human body is about 60% water. Do you think the Moon affects our bodies? Absolutely! By looking at the Moon position we can determine the best days for surgeries and other medical procedures. Why not give ourselves the very best situation to accomplish whatever we’re trying to do. By opening our awareness to the lunar cycle and how the Moon affects our astrology, we can tap into a powerful creative force.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I have experienced the last few Moon cycles as heavy, draining energy. But, on July 31, 2019 at 8:11pm we get to experience an amazing New Moon at 8º36’ of Leo. The sign of Leo is associated with many things, but the strongest is the concept of creative self-expression. In our lives, this can manifest in the form of “art” or just through the process of living creatively. Leo rules the heart and love so this energy asks us to open our hearts and after the intensity of the eclipses, this is a welcome feeling. With the New Moon in Leo we have the perfect opportunity to begin something beautiful. Have you been reluctant to share your creative self with the world? Now may be the time to reveal who you truly are.
This New Moon is in a square aspect to Uranus which brings added excitement, originality, and genius to what we create now. If romance is on your manifesting bucket list, then prepare for the unexpected. A new person coming into your life now will be very different from others you’ve known. Unusual, non-conforming, and maybe a bit quirky. An intensely wild love affair can be on the horizon. Be on the lookout! The Uranus/Moon energy can also make us feel edgy, restless, and with a strong desire for freedom. There can be a sense of rebellion and the urge to ‘chuck it all’ and move to a commune in Costa Rica. A Leo New Moon can be a bit emotive so use this wonderful creative energy in a way that finds the beauty in all things. Stay in a high vibration, share the wonder with those in your life, and spend some time in nature. Beth Lauderdale ~ Evolutionary Astrology
