Aries Full Moon – October 13, 2019; 2:07pm PDT
There is a strong Mars theme for both the Full Moon on October 13th and the New Moon on October 27th. Both of these lunations will be ruled by Mars and will bring to us assertiveness, the desire to get things done, and to go after what we want – perhaps even at the expense of others.
This month is also increasingly Scorpionic as Pluto, now moving direct, picks up momentum, and Mercury, Venus, and the Sun all move into the sign of Scorpio. Scorpio is an intense sign, extremely emotional, and sometimes manipulative. During the month we may experience power issues that stir up deep emotions. We may all be faced with a circumstance where we are forced to understand the ‘right use of power’. If this happens for you, I hope you choose wisely. We may also see power issues emerging related to our government and other governments around the world.
The Full moon is on October 13th at 2:07pm and at 20º of Aries. Pluto will be directly square the Sun and the Moon, making this Full Moon incredibly powerful. Where this falls in your chart will be an area of life where you will experience the most intensity this month. This Full Moon has the potential to be explosive and will likely stir up issues of power, control, and manipulation. Whenever Pluto is square a Full Moon, there is often the suggestion that something wonky is going on. There is more passion and depth to this time which can bring the possibility of secrets being revealed. It can dredge up negative issues from the past that we’ve suppressed and there can be issues of possessiveness, jealousy, and betrayal. It’s important to be very aware of this in our personal relationships and make sure that we own our own baggage. There can be the tendency to transfer harsh feelings onto others. This is not a good time to plan a lively and fun get-together. The energy is too intense. A Full moon in Aries is also the reminder to not lose ourselves in making compromises. There can be an overlay of courage and fighting for the underdog, even if you feel the underdog is you.
On a more positive side, the Full Moon also brings us a very nice aspect with the Sun in Libra in a sextile to Jupiter in Sagittarius. With this energy we can feel a sense of adventure and opportunity; it’s lucky and abundant. To counteract the intensity and heaviness of the Full Moon we will feel confident, expressive, and be willing to take a leap of faith just because something means so much to us. Libra and Sagittarius energy focus on themes of integrity. When faced with a choice, we will do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. From a more mundane perspective, it’s also a good time to buy a lottery ticket if you are so inclined. Don’t go crazy – just one ticket. This is nice prosperity energy and you never know what will happen.
Although the Full Moon time is generally a time of completion, this Sun/Jupiter combination is a time of big, bold, and dramatic developments. It’s a nice counterpoint to the intensity of the Full Moon and we may find that this time is not only a completion but also a new beginning. Stay open to all possibilities.
On October 21st to October 24th, Mars squares the transiting Nodal Axis. During this time be particularly careful and aware of aggressive or assertive behavior, especially if it is a repetition of past behavior. If you are triggered in a way that is far greater than the situation you’re experiencing, this is an important clue. Follow this down the rabbit hole to the source and you may be able to use this energy to release an old behavior that has been blocking your forward progress. Also, don’t engage with others who are being combative. Don’t put yourself into a dangerous situation and stay aware of your surroundings. Don’t engage in road rage.
As we move closer to the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in January, it would benefit us all to take some time to think about where we can build new foundations and redefine who we are. Here are some questions that we should all be asking ourselves during this time. Do I take responsibility for where I am now? Are my boundaries clear to myself and others? Do I have a strong sense of my own power and am I using it in a way that benefits me and the world? Am I setting clear intentions for who I want to become? What energy I am sending into the collective? Am I able to let go of the past? Understanding the answers to these questions will help us manifest the life and world that will benefit us all.
