Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Sagittarius – June 5, 2020; 12:12 pm PDT
June brings us into Eclipse season. As is fitting for the intense energy that will be with in 2020, we have six Eclipses rather than the usual four. Eclipses are a disruption in the normal flow of life and so always bring a bit of chaos and disorientation. This will be a dominating factor during the next two months.
The first 10 days or so of the month, we have Venus and the Sun in a challenging aspect to Mars and Neptune. This links the Gemini and Pisces parts of your chart and can bring confusion and unsureness about situations. You may be reviewing recent choices that you’ve made or running into minor snags that need to be resolved. It‘s not horrible energy but it is a bit ‘floaty’ and you may feel that you don’t have clear answers to questions that are being asked. This will be a highly intuitive time, so you can use this aspect of your nature to make choices and move forward. If you feel ungrounded, stand on the Earth barefoot for a few minutes and that will set you right.
On June 4th, Venus, in her retrograde motion, combines with the Sun. This happens at 13 degrees of Gemini. This is significant because it represents the middle point of the Venus retrograde cycle and the start of Venus’s next 19-month cycle. This is like a New Moon phase (new beginning) for the planet Venus. During this time, Venus is in her invisible stage so it stirs up energy deep within us and plants a new seed of expression or awareness. You may not be clear on what that is right away but as Venus moves away from the Sun you will gain more clarity. Venus represents how we give and receive love, our ability to collaborate and work with others, and our creative abilities. This is an ideal time for aha moments to occur and as Venus moves through this cycle, those seeds of inspiration will grow and be revealed to you. This is an excellent time for putting out intentions related to all the things Venus represents. Think about what you would like to manifest in your life over the next 19 months, especially in connection to relationships, learning, teaching, travel, and creativity. These are the areas that will be stimulated by this energy.
On June 5th at 12:12pm PDT we have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 15 degrees Sagittarius. This is the first Eclipse happening on the Gemini/Sagittarius axis so this is the start of a new two-year trend with a focus on what these two signs represent. Sagittarius relates to issues of truth, religion, propaganda, our beliefs, and what we do in the name of what we believe. It can bring up issues related to ‘doing things in the name of what we believe’ and questions about aligning with others who believe as we do and denouncing those who believe differently. Gemini will influence us to ‘gather all the facts’ and may prompt us to spend too much time sifting through media stories or looking at social media. Where this energy falls in your chart shows an area of life that will be stimulated over the next two years.
Eclipses disrupt the natural rhythm of things, so we can expect disturbances globally and in our daily life. It’s likely that there will be emotional drama and energetic volatility because everyone’s feelings are in a state of flux. Expect outbursts and revelations. Things that have been hidden will come to light.
On the world stage it can bring up issues of ‘what is true and what is not’ and long-held views of how reality works may be shaken up. The South Node (where we have been in the past) in Sagittarius is widely conjunct this Eclipse, so we may be faced with some major revelations and disclosures that rock our long-held beliefs of how society and government should work. We may feel a bit disoriented as the World adjusts to a new order.
From a personal perspective, this is about living with integrity and participating in life events that resonate with what you believe in. What brings you joy and a heightened sense of excitement and adventure rather than just duty and obligation? Where Sagittarius falls in your chart is where you may feel a churning desire to expand your experience and step away from the burden of excessive responsibility.
Another aspect of this Eclipse that is important to mention is that is occurs within 1 degree of the immensely powerful galactic vortex of the Great Attractor. The gravity of the Great Attractor is so powerful that it bends light, and when it interacts with other aspects, points or planets in your birth chart or as it is here in a conjunction with the Lunar Eclipse, it can give a sense of precognition and the ability to look around corners. This suggests that the Eclipse may be a very important time for the world, ourselves, societies, and governments. It’s a pivot point where it’s important to let go of the old and allow in the new.
On the same day that we have the Full Moon Eclipse, Mercury interacts with Uranus in Taurus in a very positive way. This is an activating aspect that represents mental breakthroughs, innovation, and aha downloads. Because Mercury will be in Cancer, the breakthrough that comes to you may apply to healing or some kind of emotional situation you are dealing with. It may help you figure out how to say something that you’ve been contemplating. There is a very fertile connection between Cancer and Taurus which can provide us with exciting ideas, new possibilities, and new solutions to old problems. Our minds will be more stimulated than usual which is not great for sleeping but it’s wonderful for brainstorming, planning and figuring out ways to break with established traditions and rituals.
June 6th the Sun interacts with Mars in an intense way. This energy can create a lot of friction and discord, but can also spark off an incredible idea or forward movement of some kind. It will be important to be aware of your temper and emotions on this day and if you’re triggered, the best solution is to disperse that energy with physical work, exercise, or just walk away from the situation that has upset you. Give it a day and you’ll see the circumstances more clearly. This is a great time to tackle a problem or a project. There’s a lot of energy and heat here, so use that to move something forward. There is also a bit of accident-prone energy here, so be cautious when you’re driving and don’t juggle with sharp implements.
June 11th the Sun interacts with Neptune in such a way that we may feel foggy, confused, and a bit overwhelmed. This will be a strong theme for June 11, 12, and 13. This energy can bring up issues connected to the core sense of who we are. An event or circumstance may occur that shakes up your self-awareness. Neptune makes it hard to hold onto things of substance. The energy is ethereal and a bit like trying to catch a bubble. You can’t grab it or go after it because it will pop. You have to hold out a hand and hope that it comes to you.
There will be a lot going on internally related to your spirituality, your soul, and your creativity. You may feel unproductive during these days, but at the core level we are all taking another energetic leap upward. When Neptune is strongly activated like this, it’s best to use the energy spiritually and even reclusively. This is not a good time to try to push something forward. You may feel tired or sleepy. If your body needs to rest, do it. Meditate, work on a creative project, read, spend time in nature. Don’t stress yourself out over the boulder that needs to be pushed up the hill. It will still be there when this energy clears.
On June 18th, Mercury turns retrograde at 14 degrees of Cancer. It will spend about three weeks retracing its path in the sky. It’s important during a Mercury retrograde to make sure you clarify what you say and hear, follow up on things, and do all your due diligence. A little more effort needs to go into your communication to make sure messages are received clearly. This is a time to go back over work that has already been done. Revise, edit, regroup.
From June 18th to June 25th both Mercury and Venus are retrograde so be aware that there may be a lot bubbling up inside; emotions, feelings, relationships issues, contact and contracts with others. These churning emotions may make it difficult to express what you feel or you may not be ready to reveal your thoughts. Rather than saying something that can’t be retracted, be patient, considerate, and kind and wait for the energy to clarify. This is an excellent time for reflective journal writing.
If you have important decisions to make or documents to sign, try to do it before June 15th. If you can’t make that happen, then wait until the Mercury retrograde period is over on July 12th. If that can’t be done, be sure to go over all communication and documents carefully – check and double check your work and understand that processes may get tied up during this time.
The month of June is likely to be a very dynamic time for us in the United States. The chart cast for our country, which is set for July 4, 1776 at 5:10pm Philadelphia time, shows that we will experience a Pluto return in 2022. The country’s natal Pluto sits in the 2nd house of values and the economy. How we view right and wrong, and how we value human and other life falls here as well. Pluto is all about transformation and rebirth. This energy is building now and is revealing itself in dramatic polarization between values and beliefs. It is likely that this polarization will intensify during the second half of 2020. As we approach this Pluto return milestone, we need to be thinking of what we as a nation want to stand for. What do we value? What are the important things for our lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren? If we can’t agree, perhaps we can compromise. And…if we can join together with this as a common goal, the manifestation of it can be powerful.
